Sammy went to her pediatrician for the first time today. She's in great health. |

|
I took Sam to her first professional baseball game today. We went to see my (and soon to be her) favorite team, the Mets, in Philadelphia, at Citizens Bank Park. We had a great time, and the Mets won!! Can't ask for more than that! |

| July 9, 2005 |

|
|
Sam went to her first party. Her cousins Briannie & Isiah celebrated their 5th and 1st birthdays, and Sammy was a guest. It was a hula party, so of course, Sammy wore her hula best. |

| July 26, 2005 |

|
Sammy and I left on our first vacation this day. We went to Florida - all over. We spent 8 days in Miami, 4 in Palm Beach, and 10 in Orlando.
We visited with cousins in Miami, two aunts and an uncle in Palm Beach, and cousins and an aunt and an uncle in Orlando.
We also went to see the Marlins play at Dolphin Stadium, and the Devil Rays play at Tropicana Field.
We had a great time and thank the Ruiz families in Miami, the DeJesus, Corcino & Nunez families in Palm Beach, and the DeJesus, Velasquez & Marte families in Orlando. |

Samantha is growing very fast! She's now almost at 16 pounds. We'll be going to the doctor's on Tuesday to be sure. She's also rolling over, and giggling like a maniac. She knows who mommy is, and gets very excited when she sees me! |

Sammy's will be 5 months old tomorrow! Yay! We went to the doctor's today, and she now weighs 16 pounds, 13 ounces, and is 26 inches long. The doctor said we can now move to stage 2 foods, and dinners! Let's see how Sammy likes Turkey and beans. |

Sam is just eating whatever we give her. She eats green beans, and prunes, and squash, and turkey! Grandma Paula also made her some squash/banana concoction, and she liked that too! (Gross.) She's 5 1/2 months old, and attempting to crawl. Can't leave her unattended for a second. Last night, she didn't go to sleep till midnight, playing around and just making Mommy laugh. |

Sammy is now crawling. It's time to pull out the play yard! Well, maybe in a few more weeks. By then, she'll truly be cruising. And she has a tooth! |

What I thought was one tooth, is really two! Sammy has two teeth on her bottom gums. I looked closely today while she was napping, and I am sure it's two. As soon as they're clearer to see, I will snap a picture to share.

Sammy is 2 weeks away from tunring 7 months old! She's now crawling all over the house, and yesterday, she started grabbing the couch to hoist herself up! Her two teeth are much easier to see, but she won't stay still for pics...
Mommy and baby are both excited that Halloween is in 2 weeks. |

5 days away from 7 months old! Sammy is now crawling like a little speedster around the house. And she is standing up wherever she finds something to prop herself up with. |

Halloween was a couple of days ago, and Sammy looked great! She was a lamb, and I'll post pics as soon as I can.
We went to the doctor's yesterday, and she now weighs 19 1/2 pounds, and is 27 3/4 inches. So big! I need to get gates.

Well, the time is just flying! Sammy is almost 8 months old. (She turns 8 mo. old on Dec. 1st - there's no 31st in November!)
She's still crawling all over, and standing up where she can prop herself with furniture, but know she's also getting down after standing up. Sometimes she just crouches back downt to the floor, and sometimes she just plops backwards. She's also cruising (which is basically walking with the aid of furniture).
No new words, yet. I'm trying to get her to learn to say "Mama." Let's see...

Yay! Sammy turns 8 months old today! We went to get our portraits done, and they look great. Can't wait till we get the pics in. |

Sammy is still unwrapping presents from Christmas!! She is now 4 days away from turning 9 months old. She has two new teeth growing on the top. And she's playing like a maniac! Yesterday we were playing hide and seek. I would hide behind the table and she would try and find where I was peeking out of (behind the chairs, over the table, under the slats of the chairs). She was in her playpen, and she would peek ovr the edge, and "hide" by crouching down. We were both laughing like hyenas.
She is also now saying "Mama." Mission accomplished. |

Sammy is now 9 months old. She weighs 21 pounds, 4 ounces, and is 30 inches long.
She waves bye, and is this/close to walking. Yay! |

10 months old!! 2 more months till Sammy's first birthday!
She is now eating regular food like an old pro. She loves fruit, like strawberries, bananas, and grapes. She also loves crackers and cheese. Actually, what doesn't she love? If it's food, Sammy likes it.
Not walking yet, but it'll be very, very soon! |

Samantha walked!!
Okay, before today, she had taken steps. Usually 2-3 steps.
Yesterday, however, she walked about 8 feet! It was so cool. And she kept on walking all around the room. Yay!! |

Sammy is 1! 12 months have gone by since she was born, 12 amazing months! She is now walking like a pro, dancing like star, and about to talk. She blows kisses when reprimanded, or when she sees something she likes. It is the most adorable thing ever. |

Sammy is now 13 months old. Time sure flies! She is speaking more now. For example, she calls out my sister Jessica's name and my brother Willie's name. It's so cute!! She always kisses her daddy's picture, and I've even heard her say "Papi Pablo". It is too adorable. |

It's Sam's baptism! Woo. The pics have been uploaded. Sam was very excited, but she was a little annoyed at the long dress. She looked gorgeous, and she didn't even cry when the holy water was poured on her. She actually was happy when the priest finished, and she was all "Look at me!" |

Wow! Samantha is learning so much, so quickly. She is learning where her nose and eyes are, and many other neat little tricks.
She has been in Gymboree play group for a month now, and loves it! We dance and sing and play, and she is enjoying herself mightily. |

Sammy is now 16 months old. (And she has been for 10 days!)
She is trying so hard to speak. It is so adorable. She finally says "Mami"!! About time. She also says "wow" and I'm trying to teach her numbers. She can say uno, dos, tre. When she wants milk, she says "eche" (leche), and she'll also go in front of the fridge and point at it. I know that's her way of communicating, but I can't wait till she does it with words, and she does it clearly. |

Samantha is speaking so much! A lot is still babble, and I think it's because she's so anxious to vocalize. But she clearly says "Thank you", "gracias", her numbers up to five, and other phrases.
The only thing is that as happy as I was that she calls me "Mami", I'm a little dismayed because she calls a lot of people Mami! Oh, well. At least she only says it to people whom she loves a lot and who take care of her. |

Samantha is of course learning new words everyday! Some are words I'd rather she not learn, such as stupid. But she also has learned lots of good stuff, too! She's learned to count 1-5 in English and Spanish. She is learning her A, B, Cs.
And she's also quite the music-lover. She loves to dance and sing, and she'll do it to any kind of music! It's too cute. |
